In the official Khordad 1401 report only 13% of Mahan's 1,127 flights were late, against a national average of 33%; in Esfand 1396 it was 37%, still below the big state carriers.

Aircraft and comfort

Widebody A340s with a proper business cabin on Moscow, Kuala Lumpur and Guangzhou, but the fleet is old: secondary sources put the average between 22.8 and 29.4 years. Two ex-NokScoot 777-200ERs joined in 2025 and five ex-Saudia 777s were reported in 2026; one 777 and one A340-600 were lost in the March 2026 strikes.

Baggage allowance

Alibaba lists 30 kg economy and 40 kg business plus a 5 kg or 7 kg cabin bag; Kojaro lists 20 kg for domestic economy and 30 kg international, so treat 20 kg as the domestic floor.

Service and food

The only Iranian carrier with a long-haul product: hot meals, lie-flat seats on the A340 and in-seat screens on some aircraft. No independent rating; scored above the other Iranian carriers on the cabin product alone.

Changes and refunds

System fares follow the national cancellation penalty table shown at purchase and depend on fare class and hours before departure; charter seats on Mahan flights are refunded only through the seller.
