What we could not confirm
- Current refusal rate for Iranians
- Bus 337 night service
- Prayer room
Scores
- Getting there
- Bus 337 runs to the railway station and Liberty Square for 1 lari, cashless only (contactless bank card or Metromoney card), 45 to 75 minutes. Bolt costs 25 to 40 lari. Iranian cards do not work, so buy a Metromoney card with cash in the terminal.
- Terminal and queues
- Small terminal, but passport control is the issue: Iranians are nominally visa-free for 45 days yet refusals without explanation are regularly reported. Arriving by air is lower-risk than the land border. Carry a hotel booking, return ticket and cash.
- Connections and transit
- A few European low-cost routes, but no real hub. Most Iranians use Tbilisi as a destination.
- Food, rest, SIM, prayer room
- SIM kiosks (Magti, Silknet) and exchange in arrivals, a few cafés, limited seating. Halal food is scarce; no prayer room confirmed.
- Delays and cancellations
- No ranking found; treated as average.
What is good
- 1 lari bus to the centre
- Short walk from gate to exit
What is not
- Risk of entry refusal for Iranian passports
- Cashless bus with no Iranian card option
Tips
- Print your hotel booking and return ticket and have at least a few hundred dollars in cash to show
- Buy a Metromoney card from the kiosk before leaving the terminal
