Staying in Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur is the long-haul destination Iranians can reportedly enter visa-free for 30 days, extended from 14 days on 3 September 2025. Older Persian guides still say 14 days, so check before you go. No Iranian seller's Kuala Lumpur hotel page was verified.

Kinds of stay

Foreign booking sites need a card that works outside Iran; Eghamat24 sells international hotels in rial, but Kuala Lumpur was not among the cities seen.

Tips

  • The 30-day visa-free stay comes from Wikipedia and thevisaindex; Malaysia's immigration site (checked 2 Nov 2026) does not list Iran as visa-required but gives no length of stay, and Alibaba Mag still says 14 days.
  • The 1405 exit tax applies (900,000 toman for the first trip of the year).
