Staying in Tabriz
Tabriz is the gateway to the north-west and the overland route to Turkey: the Tehran–Van train passes through it, and East Azerbaijan was among the top Nowruz 1405 provinces. Hotels are the only stay type the notes support here; the choice is smaller than in Mashhad or Tehran.

Hotel
Iran Hotel Online lists 60 Tabriz hotels, the smallest count among the six Iranian cities here; all six domestic sellers have a Tabriz page.
After the 17 Khordad 1405 (June 2026) rise, Raja's Tehran–Tabriz train fares were 770,000 to 1,350,000 toman (Hamshahri/ISNA, 24 Khordad 1405); a further 20% rail rise applied from Aban 1405, so expect higher figures now.
Tips
- The Tehran–Van train runs via Tabriz (about 11 hours Tehran–Tabriz with a stop of roughly 6 hours in Tabriz); the line was briefly cut in spring 2026 after strikes damaged the Mianeh–Zanjan axis and its autumn 2026 status is unconfirmed, so check before relying on it.
- Nowruz demand is real: East Azerbaijan ranked among the top provinces for Nowruz 1405 trips after Mazandaran, Gilan and Khorasan Razavi.
- Domestic airfares were high everywhere in autumn 1405; a reported Tehran–Tabriz average of about 10.5 million toman on 9 Mehr was not verified, so compare the train first.
