Trains in Germany

Card rule unverifiedIranian cards do not workVerify before you plan

Deutsche Bahn · European rail resellers (Omio, Trainline, Trip.com) need a non-Iranian card; the notes did not check Deutsche Bahn's own site. Omio bans cashback or discounts on Deutsche Bahn tickets, so there are no discount codes here.

What we could not confirm

  • The notes have no first-hand check of Deutsche Bahn's site, fares or booking window; this entry is a reseller guide only.
  • Whether Omio or Trainline block bookings or void commissions for Iranian IP addresses or Iran-linked cards.
  • The year of the Eurail-to-Interrail rebrand ('from 9 September') and whether Interrail affiliate terms changed with it.

How to buy

  1. 1Search on Omio or Trainline, which sell trains across Europe, or on Trip.com, which lists Germany.
  2. 2Pay with a non-Iranian card, or ask someone abroad to book and send you the e-ticket.
  3. 3For many trips a Eurail-type pass may suit you. It is for people living outside Europe (by residence, not citizenship), and eurail.com now redirects to interrail.com. You still need a Schengen visa and a foreign card.

If you cannot pay yourself

Someone abroad can book on Omio, Trainline or Trip.com with their own card and send you the e-ticket.

About this page: Iranian bank cards do not work on foreign websites. This page is a guide, not a shop: it tells you how people buy each country's train tickets and sends you to the seller. Fares and rules come from public sources on the dates shown and can change. Check the official site before you travel. Trains that start inside Iran are affected by the 2026 conflict; make sure they are running.
